A group of seven friends have a farewell party at Ellie’s & Michael’s flat in Nottingham. The night starts with a dinner and drinks, reminiscing about good old times, until around 12.00 a.m. when they decide to play their favourite role-playing game “Night falls in Palermo”. This time they will play it slightly differently though. Night will fall in Kouramades, a village in Corfu, where Freedom, the narrator, is from.

Life is empty without love and friendship; therefore I can say that mine has been quite full.

I wonder what would have happened if I hadn’t decided to follow my boyfriend who pursued his dream in the UK. What would have happened if I had said “no” to my first night out at a Greek live gig in Nottingham, where I met Tonia, my first friend in the UK.
